The Hawthorne was an absolute hidden gem. The owners made us feel like we were part of their family, and the hotel felt like a home away from home. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, and having access to a shared kitchen with all the necessary facilities was a huge plus. The hotel's location was lovely, with great surroundings for my little explorers, and a convenient mini-market just a short walk away. We will definitely be returning to see Nikki and Steve soon!
The only thing that could have made the morning meal better was if there were more breakfast options available.

Convenient Location: The hotel is located just an hour away from the picturesque Peak District, making it a great base for exploring the area. The proximity to this natural beauty spot is not only convenient but also cost-effective for those looking to enjoy the stunning landscapes without breaking the bank.
Big Dog at the Entrance: The presence of a large dog at the hotel entrance could be off-putting for potential guests who are not dog lovers. Since the hotel is a commercial place, this might deter some customers and limit their options for accommodation.

Hotel breakfast could have been better with more options or a wider variety of choices.

The location was great too, with a meadow at the back for lovely walks. The staff were friendly and the food at the bar was delicious. It truly felt like a home away from home.
The only thing that could make the breakfast offerings better would be to have more variety.
